Music AuditionsIf you have ever been to any music auditions, you know that the competition is fierce out there. The musicians of today who are out there trying to make it in the industry are technically trained, seasoned performers, and great lovers of their art. You will not make it in music auditions if you do not love music and take your craft very seriously. To be a successful musician, you have to give it your all every time. There is no room for slouches. It is what sets musicians apart from actors or models. Not to in any way put down these professions, but the fact is that occasionally, an actor or a model can get lucky and get a role, or be chosen, solely based on their looks, and not necessarily their good looks. This never happens at music auditions. Sure, if you have a band and you can play something that people like and they like your look too, that's one thing, but pure looks will get you nowhere at music auditions. You should be comfortable with yourself and with your instrument at music auditions. Your technical training may be impeccable, but can you improvise a soothing or ear-catching melody? Are you relaxed and smooth in your playing? Some people who have very little technical training may blow everyone away at music auditions simply because of the ease and natural flow of the way they play their instrument. Toronto
